Abortion as Birth Control

There is a think that abortion it is a method of birth control. Although most abortions are executed for birth control, they are by no means contraceptive. Abortions involve ending the life of a developing human being by a number of surgical and medical techniques.

Using abortions as birth control methods means improperly used contraception, or do not use contraception at all. 46% of women having abortions did not use contraception during the month they became pregnant. 47% have had at least one previous abortion and only 8% of them never used a method of birth control.

Using abortion as birth control method is not healthy physically or psychologically, and is not a mature or responsible approach to sex. Women who were used abortions are at higher risk for reproductive track infections, including HIV and PID.

Although there are situations in which abortion is in response to health concerns of the mother or fetus, or in response to pregnancy arising from abuse, the majority of abortions are obtained for social and financial reasons. The primary reasons to choose abortion as one of the birth control methods for many women are follows: Almost 75% say than they cannot afford a child or say that the baby would interfere with school, work or other responsibilities and almost 50% of women do not want to be a single parent or have problems with their husbands or partner.
