| Emergency Contraception | It happened so, that you had sexual contact without using any method of contraception. Of course, this situation is quite possible. It may happen if you were caught up in the heat of the moment, of if the condom, you were using has broken in the most inappropriate moment, or (though it is the most undesirable but even it may happen to any one) if you were raped. • A series of four contraceptive pills, which is called Yuzpe Method
How Effective are the Emergency Contraception Pills?
These pills are considered to be about 95 – 99 per cent effective. Though you are to remember that the Emergency Contraception Pills are only for emergencies, and they may not be applied as methods of birth control regularly.
These are the Situations, in which you May Have to Use the Emergency Contraception Pills:
You had sexual contact unexpectedly, and you did not use any method of contraception;
You were abused, sexually assaulted, raped or you awoke and realized you had had sexual contact
You apply the withdrawal as the method of contraception, but this time your partner skipped the necessary moment;
You had a kind of a contraceptive accident, like your condom torn, or the diaphragm slipped from its place;
You take birth control pills as a rule, but this time you forgot to take one;
You miscalculate your fertile period, in case if you are using the “rhythm method”
How to Get Emergency Contraception Pills?
You will have to take a prescription for these pills from your doctor. In addition, to keep yourself safe, the best for you would be getting the Emergency Contraception Pills in advance and simply to store them for a case of an emergency. But you are never to rely on Emergency Contraception Pills as on the primary method of contraception, as they are less effective than regular methods of birth control, and they do not provide protection against any sexually transmitted disease.
